Asif Rafi, MD is board certified in Allergy and Immunology and Geriatrics and Gerontology. He also holds advanced certification in Geriatrics with a focus on immune function. Dr. Rafi has also completed additional fellowship training and clinical research in chronic sinusitis, allergic skin disorders, and food allergy.

What distinguishes Dr. Rafi’s practice from other practices is his multidisciplinary approach to each patient’s condition in order to treat all triggering factors. His office does not rush patients or practice factory medicine. The Allergy, Asthma, and Sinus Institute is an academic private practice where a typical new patient consultation will last 60 minutes and follow up visits require 15-30 minutes.

Because of his extensive research and training, Dr. Rafi is uniquely qualified to treat patients who have not had success with their prior treatments. Many of his patients have already been evaluated by their primary care doctor, another allergist, dermatologist, or specialist physician.

Also trained in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology, the doctor and his staff encourage parents who see symptoms in their young child to act early on. The goal of Allergy therapy is block the allergic march.

Physician Associate

Sharon is a licensed and board-certified Physician Associate, born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA in 2013, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She went on to earn her Master of Physician Associate Studies degree from Western University of Health Sciences and gained her national certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) in 2018. As a graduate student she gained clinical experience in a multitude of settings including hospitals and private practices.

She joined Dr. Asif Rafi and his team in 2019. She currently specializes in the fields of Allergy & Immunology and Dermatology. Her interests as a healthcare provider are focused to improve population health through compassionate, respectful, patient-centered care. Her approach to healthcare integrates evidence-based practice and experience. She enjoys making meaningful connections with her patients and ensuring that patients have a thorough understanding of their treatment plans. She looks forward to meeting new patients and caring for their healthcare needs.
