ALLERGY & IMMUNOLOGY
At the Allergy, Asthma, and Sinus Institute, we offer patient-centered care for those with allergic, immune, respiratory, and skin conditions. The allergy & immunology specialists at our clinic help patients identify their symptoms before developing personalized treatment plans, which bring enduring relief. The body needs a complete medical evaluation and specific medical interventions for its multiple systems because allergies and immune system disorders affect different parts of the body.
The immune system produces an allergic reaction when it identifies dust mites, pollen, pet dander, and specific food substances. The body produces allergic reactions, which result in symptoms that include sneezing, nasal congestion, skin rashes, itching, wheezing, and shortness of breath. The symptoms of this condition affect some people in a way that they only occur during specific times of the year, and their intensity remains low. The symptoms that others experience become persistent and create problems in their daily activities. Our expert allergy immunology doctors provide personalized diagnosis and treatment to meet each patient’s needs.
As a dedicated allergy immunology specialist practice, we use advanced tools and effective therapies for all types of allergies. The medical practice delivers healthcare services to patients who range from newborns to children and adults before reaching senior citizens, because the human body develops allergic reactions and immune system function at different stages of life. The allergy immunology physicians at our institute identify allergens while treating inflammation and strengthening the entire immune system instead of treating only the surface symptoms.
An experienced allergy immunologist doctor should be your first choice when you experience persistent allergy or immune system-related symptoms. Scientists can create improved medical treatments through their understanding, which they obtained from their research findings. What you can expect on your first visit:
Your first visit with Dr. Rafi will be thorough and informative. The appointment starts with a detailed medical history. This helps us understand your symptoms, past treatments, environmental exposures, and family history. This discussion is key to accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Next, you’ll have a physical exam. In most cases, we’ll also do diagnostic tests during this visit. Skin testing identifies reactions to environmental allergens. Patch testing checks for suspected allergic contact dermatitis. We offer exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) testing to measure lung inflammation and spirometry to assess lung function. If needed, we use nasal endoscopy with a flexible fiber optic scope to evaluate nasal polyps, a deviated septum, or fungal issues like candidiasis.
Throughout the visit, we focus on clear communication and teamwork. By working with our allergy & immunology specialists, patients receive comprehensive care that addresses both symptoms and their immune causes.
