Dr. Rafi and his team at the Allergy, Asthma, and Sinus Institute specialize in the care of elderly patients. Dr. Rafi completed a one-year fellowship in geriatrics and gerontology at UCLA, as well as a specialized program in advanced geriatric medicine. Our older patients are typically 65 and older, although it’s important to note that age alone doesn’t define being geriatric. With each new patient, we start from the beginning. Our usual approach begins with a thorough medication review and an assessment of recent lab results. We then proceed to order additional tests as necessary.
