Our geriatric patients are typically over 65, but age doesn’t define being geriatric. You could be 70, healthy, and working full-time without being geriatric. Or you might be 60, managing multiple health issues and medications, making you a geriatric patient. We assess your functionality at home and outside, your comorbidities, and your medical complexity.
With each new patient, we start fresh. We begin with a medication review and an analysis of recent lab results. We may order additional tests as necessary.

What you can expect on your first visit:
Your first visit to Dr. Rafi is very comprehensive. We take your history to learn all aspects of your condition and perform an initial examination. Most likely, we will perform skin testing during this visit. It might be skin testing for classic allergies or patch testing for allergic contact dermatitis. We also test for exhaled nitric oxide (called FeNO) to determine the level of allergic inflammation in your lungs. We offer spirometry for assessment of lung function. We can perform nasal endoscopy with a flexible fiber optic endoscopy to assess for nasalpolyps, deviated septum, and candidiasis.
