Lynwood CA Allergy Testing, Immunologist & Sinus Doctor
GERIATRICS & GERONTOLOGY LYNWOOD CA
Dr. Rafi and his dedicated team at the Allergy, Asthma and Sinus Institute specialize in providing specialized care for geriatric patients. Dr. Rafi’s extensive training includes a one-year fellowship in geriatrics and gerontology at UCLA, and he has further honed his expertise through a special fellowship in advanced geriatrics. His focus centers on immune function and enhancement, as well as academic non-cosmetic anti-aging.
It’s crucial to understand that being considered geriatric isn’t solely based on age. While many of our geriatric patients are typically over 65, age alone doesn’t exclusively define one as geriatric. For instance, a 70-year-old individual who works five days a week and enjoys excellent health may not be categorized as geriatric. Conversely, a 60-year-old person with multiple comorbidities, managing 30 different medications, could indeed be considered a geriatric patient. To assess a patient’s geriatric status, we consider their functionality both within and outside their home, the nature of their comorbidities, and the complexity of their medical profile.
When a new patient seeks our care, we initiate a comprehensive evaluation from the outset. This typically commences with a thorough review of their current medications and recent laboratory results. We then proceed to order additional tests as necessary, ensuring a holistic understanding of their unique medical needs. Our commitment at the Allergy, Asthma and Sinus Institute is to deliver high-quality, personalized care that addresses the specific requirements of our geriatric patients, ultimately enhancing their overall well-being. Whether you or a loved one is seeking specialized geriatric care, we are here to guide you on your path toward improved health and an enhanced quality of life.

We also test for exhaled nitric oxide (called FeNO) to determine the level of allergic inflammation in your lungs. We offer spirometry for assessment of lung function. We can perform nasal endoscopy with a flexible fiber optic endoscopy to assess for nasalpolyps, deviated septum, and candidiasis.
