Rolling Hills CA Allergy Testing, Immunologist & Sinus Doctor

GERIATRICS & GERONTOLOGY ROLLING HILLS CA

Dr. Rafi and his team at the Allergy, Asthma, and Sinus Institute specialize in providing expert care to geriatric patients. Dr. Rafi has completed a one-year fellowship in geriatrics and gerontology at UCLA, along with a special fellowship in advanced geriatrics. His focus encompasses immune function and enhancement, as well as academic non-cosmetic anti-aging.

It’s important to note that being considered geriatric is not solely defined by age. You could be 70 years old, still working five days a week, and in excellent health, not fitting the geriatric category. Conversely, a 60-year-old individual with multiple comorbidities, taking 30 medications, might be classified as a geriatric patient. The determination takes into account factors like your functional abilities at home and in other settings, your existing comorbidities, and the complexity of your medical profile.

With each new geriatric patient, we initiate the assessment from the beginning. This typically involves a thorough review of your medications and an evaluation of recent lab results. Additional testing will be ordered as necessary to provide a comprehensive understanding of your health and to develop a personalized care plan tailored to your unique needs.

Our primary goal is to ensure that geriatric patients receive the best possible care, addressing their specific health concerns and improving their overall well-being.

We also test for exhaled nitric oxide (called FeNO) to determine the level of allergic inflammation in your lungs. We offer spirometry for assessment of lung function. We can perform nasal endoscopy with a flexible fiber optic endoscopy to assess for nasalpolyps, deviated septum, and candidiasis.
