Santa Clarita CA Allergy Testing, Immunologist & Sinus Doctor

GERIATRICS & GERONTOLOGY SANTA CLARITA CA

Dr. Rafi and his esteemed team at the Allergy, Asthma, and Sinus Institute specialize in the comprehensive care of geriatric patients. Dr. Rafi’s qualifications include the completion of a one-year fellowship in geriatrics and gerontology at UCLA, as well as a specialized fellowship in advanced geriatrics. His primary areas of expertise encompass immune function and enhancement, along with academic pursuits in non-cosmetic anti-aging.

While the majority of our geriatric patients are typically aged over 65, it’s important to note that the classification of being geriatric is not solely age-dependent. For example, a 70-year-old individual who remains actively engaged in a five-day workweek and enjoys robust health may not fall under the geriatric category. Conversely, a 60-year-old with a multitude of comorbidities, reliant on a regimen of 30 medications, would indeed be considered a geriatric patient.

To provide the highest level of individualized care, we thoroughly assess your functional status within your home and in broader contexts. We delve into your medical history, paying careful attention to any comorbidities you may present. We also scrutinize the complexity of your medical profile.

With each new patient, our approach commences at the inception of their care journey. Typically, we initiate the process with a comprehensive medication review and a meticulous evaluation of recent laboratory results. As we prioritize your well-being, we may recommend additional testing as deemed necessary.
