GERIATRICS & GERONTOLOGY SOUTH EL MONTE CA

Dr. Rafi and his dedicated team at the Allergy, Asthma, and Sinus Institute are experts in the field of geriatric patient care. Dr. Rafi’s qualifications include a one-year fellowship in geriatrics and gerontology at UCLA, complemented by a specialized advanced geriatrics fellowship. His research primarily revolves around immune function enhancement, academic non-cosmetic anti-aging, and related areas.

While the majority of our geriatric patients are aged over 65, it’s important to emphasize that geriatric status isn’t solely determined by age. For instance, a 70-year-old individual who is actively employed five days a week, enjoys excellent health, and maintains an active lifestyle may not be categorized as geriatric. Conversely, a 60-year-old with multiple comorbidities and a reliance on 30 medications would be classified as a geriatric patient.

To ensure personalized care, we assess your functionality both at home and outside, delve into your medical history, including comorbidities, and understand the complexities of your medical profile.

With each new patient, we start afresh. Typically, we initiate the process with a medication review and a comprehensive examination of recent lab results. Additional testing is ordered as necessary, ensuring a personalized and comprehensive approach to your healthcare.
