GERIATRICS & GERONTOLOGY TEMPLE CITY CA

Dr. Rafi and his team at the Allergy, Asthma, and Sinus Institute specialize in caring for geriatric patients. Dr. Rafi completed a one-year fellowship in geriatrics and gerontology at UCLA, followed by a specialized advanced geriatrics fellowship. His research focus includes immune function enhancement, academic non-cosmetic anti-aging, and related areas.

While most of our geriatric patients are aged over 65, it’s essential to understand that geriatric status isn’t solely determined by age. For instance, a 70-year-old who maintains a full-time job, enjoys excellent health, and leads an active life may not be categorized as geriatric. On the other hand, a 60-year-old dealing with multiple comorbidities and relying on 30 medications would be considered a geriatric patient.

To provide personalized care, we assess your functionality within and outside your home and delve into your medical history, including comorbidities, to understand the intricacies of your health profile.

With each new patient, we start fresh. Typically, we initiate the process with a medication review and a thorough examination of recent lab results. Additional testing is ordered as needed, ensuring a personalized and comprehensive approach to your healthcare.
